HAVE A READ ABOUT OUR ADVENTURE AND TAKE A PEEK AT OUR MEMORIES...
Another Leisurely Adventure
Last Saturday, the leisure walking group, Mr and Mrs Massari and the French teacher, Gaelle, all met at school at the usual time of 9.00am, to head off on our 5th leisure walk for the year. We were so excited that we couldn't stop talking about what we were going to see at Piha.
After the very long ride, we pulled up at a view point, where we were amazed at the phenomenal sites we saw. From above, we could see people surfing, waves crashing, the sun glistening on the water and a famous New Zealand landmark, Lion Rock.

Once we had driven down and parked, we began the next part of our adventure. Walking on the magnetic sand, our bodies were filled with goose bumps, as we shivered from the chilly breeze. What made our walk even more stunning was walking up Lion Rock, even though it was terrifyingly steep, it was worth it, because most of us conquered our fear of heights.

Once we were back on the soft, black sand of the beach, we continued our exploration, stopping for a while to write 'Leisure walking group' in the sand, before continuing and coming across a stream too wide to jump across. We crossed over by carefully balancing on a log so we wouldn't fall in. The last over was Fereni who ran across and got her shoes and socks saturated, instead of doing the balancing act like the rest of us!

After a little more exploring, we raced back to the van, laughing and chattering about all the fun we'd had.

Wonder what our next adventure will be?
Can't wait!
